The task of moving forward or developments it’s a short or long walk depending on people and situations. And there two convincing factors to influence people’s willingness, actions and goals. These are intrinsic and extrinsic motivators.
It’s less likely to reach a certain place, and not knowing what happened or how we get there. Whether we live by chance or choice we see the motivation echo everywhere. We can tell our story about motives that kept us steering in one’s direction from the interaction of both conscious and unconscious factors, all is about motivation making the difference. Motivation is like that unwavering friend who is ever present; without boundaries motivation present itself even in private places or life wooing things to move forward because motivation doesn’t know isolation nor work remotely.
So, what is the reason? Motivation is all things decisions, all things life ideas, all things positivity, all things good habits, all things determination, all things capacity, all things new goals, all things reward, all things success. Looking at what motivates us to do these things – is precisely thinking about self-motivation. Fairly, to survive the should we or should we not, the could we or could we not, the decisions are stormed by what motivates us to do life a certain way, and it is just important to think about intrinsic and extrinsic motivators.
Intrinsic motivation is mainly about having a sense of achievement driven by interest, learning, autonomy, belonging, mastery, meaning, love, curiosity, pride etc. To help us understand, is to put it this way.
If intrinsic motivation has a name and the given name is ‘mindset’. The thinking would be my work is my rewards kind of approach. More often doing things for own sake, and that’s what keeps the mindset motivated.
If intrinsic motivation has a name and the given name is ‘creative’. The attitude will be to perform an action or task or thinking on the expected satisfaction of just performing the action or task. More often doing things interesting personal challenge, having fun.
Or simply put, if extrinsic motivation has a name and the given name is ‘the administrator’. There will be a lot of resources pushing the idea of seizing the motivation that comes from within the individual.
On the other hand, extrinsic motivation is mainly about having a sense of achievement driven by things like rewards, money, praise, competition, fear of failure, fear of punishment, medals. Again, to help us understand, is to put it this way.
If extrinsic motivation has a name and the given name is ‘mindset’. The viewpoint would be of to say give me a reward to work kind of approach. More often doing things for own sake of a reward, and sometimes it is about what reward can motivate us fast but often not sustainably.
If extrinsic motivation has a name and the given name is ‘creative’. The attitude would be to perform an action or task or thinking on the expected recognition or status satisfaction of performing the action or task. More often doing things that value influence and value profitable results.
Or simply put, if extrinsic motivation has a name and the given name is ‘the administrator’. There will be a lot of resources pushing the idea of recruiting people who are role models or creating inspirational events.
Almost in every space we face intrinsic and extrinsic motivators. This helps to make a good thing about individualism and team work. It gives the opportunity for intrinsic and extrinsic motivators to own a space and contribute their characteristics. Different people are motivated by different things and at different times in their lives. A task may have both intrinsic and extrinsic motivators. But if we identify the affirmation that says a lot about us will help to reach the end goal. And it is much easier to defend the things that identifies with our characteristics.
What motivates problem solvers may differ to what motivates problem finders. Just because they are good at finding problems doesn’t mean they are there to do the solving so much better. They might be relying on someone to be the problem solver. If not, at least be the defender until someone is there to bring solutions. This works in a real team work environment.
Likewise, what motivates people who are seeking freedom, may or may not motivates other who want to be orderly. In such a situation freedom might be so much a threat to the perceived methodology. All these are some of the individual disposition places that determine how we decide how to play the game.
Intrinsic factors are the most obscure, yet most important. Intrinsic motivation often desires simply to seek out new things or new challenges and gain knowledge. Since it exists within the individual, rather than relying on external pressures or a desire for reward. Such people they can engage willingly. The natural motivation tendency is a vital element in cognitive, physical and social development. People who are intrinsically motivated are more likely to take responsibility because they believe they have the potential and attribute their achievements to factors under their control, as well as interested in mastering a task or topic.
Intrinsic motivated people they can easily identify themselves with the flow of the experience. There can be occasions when they get caught up in what they do, that for a moment everything seems effortless. The fact is that, on daily basis, you look forward to seeing the amazing continuation of learning and progress of the work.
This is not to dismiss the relevance of extrinsic motivations, as we all need rewards in full packages. This is to suggest that extrinsic motivation without intrinsic motivation is not close enough to show a balanced life. The great reward comes from inside – as intrinsic motivators are great learners.
